Learn the basics of natural dyeing with plants you can grow in your own garden! Dye with Marigolds, coreopsis, black walnut and/or cochineal.

We will cover scouring, a two step mordant process including which alum to use, and then the dye process.

Examples of what to dye: protein fibers, a skein of yarn, wool, silk -or- cellulose fibers, cotton, hemp, bamboo

*Note that protein fibers tend to dye a darker shade.
